What about saying “invest” instead of “buy” when you pay for a font license? It gives a better sense of the value you get from your money.

@marsidesino You can't resell most font licences.

If proprietary fonts exist in the near future (not sure they will due to AI and open source), NFTs and ZK-proofs in some kind of blockchain DRM system would make this work!

@elih “invest” as purchase with the expectation of benefit (not necesarily money). When someone invest in a new computer, for instance, they don’t expect to earn money from it but benefit from using it
