@julescelt01 @PaulNickson @Lazarou It's the belief that rich people have earned their wealth through brains, hard work, and some sort of undefined "merit." People buy into this to protect their belief that if they work hard enough, they, too, will be very rich one day. To think that rich people became rich any other way is to think that the entire system is rigged, and a lot of people simply won't entertain that notion.
