Wow, this would really cut executive pay. I love it. There’s an idea floating around called #Limitarianism, meaning we cap maximum wealth at some level like $10M and cap income, too.

We’re in a climate crisis largely due to the actions of these executives, so tax them out of existence.

"Majority of people in 40 countries want 4:1 maximum pay ratios for CEOs and their lowest-paid workers”

In democracies, we're told, politicians exist to reflect and enact the popular will; but the truth is, politicians' primary occupation is thwarting the will of the people, in preference to the will of a small group of wealthy, powerful people.

One thing that the current exorbitant investments in "AI" show is that the investor class and big tech corporations do not pay enough taxes: If you have billions to set on fire for spicy autocomplete we should take some or all of those to do something useful with.

Adding hashtags - where's quote toot? I thought that was coming?

Jasmin Belanger believed the deal was simple: pay off what she owed, and her landlord would let her keep her housing.

It wasn’t until months later that she learned it had left her with a permanent record of an eviction — despite there never being one.

Alright, this took way longer to make than I am willing to admit. But the fact it didn't exist bugged me.

A meme made from the classic Looney Tunes hunting season skit Bugs and Daffy pull down signs off a tree which read, respectively, "Rabbit Season" and "Duck Season". Finally, the last sign shows a caricature of a rich man and the text "Billionaire Season", and the two look off to one side evilly

@campuscodi The CEO of atlassian has a net worth of $12 billion (At one point $24 billion). That is all money extracted from mostly Atlassian. If we assume that even half of it was from Atlassian, that is enough to give *each* of these 150 employees $40 million. Firing this many people at once is a big fuck you to the worker class. No one deserves or needs $10 million, let alone $12,000,000,000 dollars. He literally can't spend it quickly enough yet is firing people. #eattherich
@dangillmor #nationalize everything. Utilities, housing, factories, farms, markets, all of it.
Take the owner class out of the picture. Then the people can work towards a way to organize it all for the benefit of all.

Alright, y’all. Follow-up on this poll as promised…

Creative Commons published it. Afterward they shared their perspective on AI vs CC content. In short, “to get a sense of the various views on this question, we launched a Twitter poll where nearly half of respondents said, ‘it depends.’ We agree.”

They made some questionable comments about it…
