Does anyone else have this issue in Gnome where searching for a file in the overview and pressing Enter no longer opens the file but only opens the folder containing the file?

I'm hoping this will be solved before Gnome 50 goes out of beta! But I can't find any bug report about it. So I wonder if it's something I've done wrong or if it's unique to Gnome OS only, or if there's an issue somewhere I just haven't found… or if I should report it?

@forteller

In my mind, opening the file location would be the preferred action, though

It let's me choose what to do with it. And sometimes I'm looking for files where I'm not sure about the name, but I know another file in the same directory

Are you sure this is a bug?

@baardhaveland @forteller Also it shows up in the "Files" section of the overview. So it should open Files. If you search for a contact, it shows in Contacts, and opens in Contacts. It does not call it.

@Valentin @baardhaveland Of course I'm not sure if it's a bug or a feature, but to me it's a big step backwards! When searching for a file, I want to open the file. If I want the folder, I'll search for the folder. Sure, I might not remember the folder name and search for the file, but then the folder name is shown in the search result, so I could find the name and search for it that way.

Maybe we could get both, by having Enter and Ctrl+Enter do two different things?
