@inquiline omg, I had never heard of cartes de visite before and now I'm super into them. Basically trading cards of you and your friends?? Incredible, and could be made today cheaper than ever. Why aren't we doing this?!
Imagine having one of those binders people use for Magic/Pokemon cards, but it's just full of wholesome pictures of your buds. OMG I need this in my life

i'm now very angry that i have business cards (and Mastodon), but no CdV (and thankfully no LinkedIn). i need to rearrange this to get rid of business cards and add CdV

Next time I throw a party I'm making these to commemorate the occasion. Wait. Maybe the theme of the party could be taking people's photos and printing them up for them on the spot. omfg

many many years ago in grad school we had a small party and one of our friends who was supposed to be there wasn't for some reason so we taped his picture to a bowl of chips and kind of treated the situation like he was actually there
