❤️ Thank you @bagder for maintaining #curl since 1998. What would we do without it, how long would it take us, and what code quality would those solutions have without you? Thank you so much! ❤️

...and how on earth would people be able to check the weather forecast without curl? 😉

(Please join me in thanking Daniel, and let others here on the #Fediverse know about your favourite ways of using #curl )

@kirschner @bagder @mcladams
I found this podcast quite elucidating:

[Rust in Production: curl with Daniel Stenberg](https://corrode.dev/podcast/s02e01-curl/)

And when i searched my #antennapod subscriptions, much came up but an interview from 2015 (a decade ago!!) caught my attention, now added to my queue:

[The Changelog: 17 Years of curl (Interview)](https://changelog.com/podcast/153)

Changelog

17 Years of curl with Daniel Stenberg (Changelog Interviews #153)

Daniel Stenberg joined the show to talk about curl and libcurl and how he has spent at least 2 hours every day for the past 17 years working on and maintaining curl. That's over 13k hours! We covered the origins of curl, how he chooses projects to work on, why he has remained so dedicated to curl all these years, the v...
Corrode Rust Consulting

curl with Daniel Stenberg - Rust in Production Podcast | corrode Rust Consulting

In the season premier we talk to none other than Daniel Stenberg! We focus on integrating Rust modules in curl, their benefits, ways in which Rust and Rust crates helped improve curl, but also how curl helped those crates, and where curl is used in the official Rust toolchain. Along the way we also learn about the early history of curl and Rust, which section of your car’s owner’s-manual you should “re”-read, some weird HTTP edge-cases, and Daniel’s experience in open-source maintainership.

@kirschner @bagder I've used curl daily for years, for checking web servers and headers, downloading files and pulling IP information from sites like https://ipinfo.io/ .

Just this week I used curl to access the Rackspace cloud files API for a mass file delete before their higher prices kicked in.

@kirschner @bagder I use `curl` as a basic part of the I/O of my post-scarcity #Lisp implementation.

@kirschner @bagder Absolute legend! Curl was and is always one of the first tools that goes on any machine I install. From the smallest RaspberryPis to the large BladeCenters (when hardware was still a thing 😜).
Outstanding support from Daniel himself as well as his team and the curl community of developers.

@bagder Thanks also to @igor_chubin for the work on https://wttr.in . ❤️

"weather" and "weather2" are aliases in my shell for curl https://wttr.in/berlin and curl v2.wttr.in/berlin .
