A2 I don't go out of my way explicitly to learn something or push myself. Rather I decide what I want to make, and then learn what ever skills, or techniques, are necessary to make the item I want to make. Primarily I don't let not knowing the skill stop me from making what I want to make. Fortunately the makerspace has a community of makers who work well to teach share skills, and help each other. That and access to the likes of YouTube makes learning easier.
