We're on a road trip with our #ev.
We did about 280km in one sitting and drove the accu from 100% down to 15%. Plugged it into the next available charger (luckily a fast-charger) and had it recharged to 100% in under an hour.

I'm new to this whole thing but it doesn't feel like range is really a problem 😃

Screenshot showing the charging point screen. It shows that 70kWh have been provided in 55 minutes.

@phoenix no it isn't. Also on long trips you learn that charging only to 80% goes much faster and is almost always worth an extra "splash & dash" stop.

I can recommend A Better Route Planner (ABRP) to play around with different routing and charging options. The fastest option is almost always the least intuitive. 😄

@fedops thanks for the tips! It's the first trip so we're just figuring out how all of this works 😃

@phoenix that being said the VW satnav is surprisingly decent at figuring out an optimal charging strategy. It's just less fun to play around with.

@fedops We figured that when travelling with a little one, the car is not the determining factor when to make stops and when not 😅 Finding places with playgrounds is surprisingly difficult, while finding charging spots is rather easy.

@phoenix hehe yeah. Here it's the bio break requirement. 350km is about the maximum length of a leg.

@phoenix we have an ev with only a ~50kwh accu. 280km sounds great, we're lucky to make 170. But you know, it takes a bit more time and planning, but I actually enjoy the trips and I'm not stressed afterwards.

Having said that: this weekend we will travel to the north sea. Let's see how that works out... 🙈
