@mawhrin what you're using now if I may ask?
I switched to Vivaldi (after unsuccessful try to stick to a clone - LibreWolf had massive issues in multidevice environment), it works the way I want but am still not sure if I made the right choice.
@cybervegan @strypey @mawhrin I did my research about hosting my own sync server - I could do it, I think, but decided against. I don't trust myself to do it safely enough, not to mention regular maintenance.
I did a bit of poking around on the web after posting that. Apparently there are a few options, some of which I mention here;

The simplest option for those not wanting to self-host seems to be NextCloud. If you've got access to a NC server, and your admin (if it's not you) is willing to add the Bookmarks app, you can use browser plug-ins to sync bookmarks, tabs (and may other stuff?) across browsers.
I've thought about using Zotero, which is a Free Code under AGPL;
It does depend on a server, but AFAIK the free tier would be fine for syncing bookmarks, etc. A non-geek friend used it during her PhD thesis and rated it so highly she paid for more storage.
There might be a way to self-host a Zotero server? Never looked into it.

@strypey Thanks for the reminder, I should really look into self-hosting storage for zotero.

Maybe there's a NextCloud app for that? Or some way to use WebDav to plug the Zotero app into NC storage?
@artwaw i'm using vivaldi, and i still have few firefoxes here and there – for now – because i'm so used to the interface
enough mismanagent and gaslighting from mozilla people is enough though.
i'm going to evaluate the firefox forks and see if i can switch to one of them, if not, i'll move to vivaldi everywhere.
the hardest part will be actually android, because android firefox is such a neat browser.

I haven't used vanilla FF on any device I own since the EME nonsense. I will only install a mobile browser from F-Droid, because that way I know that either it doesn't bundle any shady proprietary nonsense, or it's been removed at compile time.
I've used a few, but at present I mainly use Fennec. I also have WebLibre and Monocles Browser installed and use them occasionally.
