A great prof (and fellow Mastodonian) @jlepawsky is co-leading a roundtable today at 11ET/12:30 NL time, and he has been pressured to TONE IT DOWN lest we upset the dismantlement project already in process. Thus, DEFINITELY DO NOT write to researchawards@mun.ca and ask for a link to attend. Cross-Canadian academic solidarity might make some powers and principalities VERY SAD.

MEMORIAL'S “RESEARCH AT THE CENTRE OF THE EDGE" SPEAKER'S SERIES

PRESERVING & ENHANCING MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY'S CONTRIBUTION TO KNOWLEDGE DISCUSSION FEBRUARY 10TH | 12:30-2PM NST DH-2002 (Junior Common Room) & Webex

Abstract: Public universities play a critical role in the production, free and open discussion, and mobilization of evidence-based knowledge. They do this through research, teaching, service, and public engagenent. Menorial University has a special obligation to help meet the knowledge needs of current and future generations in Newfoundland and Labrador. Its members also contribute in significant ways to national and global efforts to understand and respond to multiple and diverse societal, health and environmental challenges in the world around us. This Roundtable Discussion is intended to start a conversation about how Memorial can preserve and enhance its contribution to knowledge, where and how this might be vulnerable, and what it would take to enhance that contribution in the future. For a link write to researchawards@mun.ca
