Is there any reason why the official Mastodon app (I use Android) is NOT showing a warning, if you try to post a picture without ALT-TEXT?
@apps does a great UX job here and reminds me, every time I forget to add an alt text.
If needed, I can add a feature request / bug ticket.
That should be the standard, that it's on.

People who are new to the Fediverse and have zero ideas what an alt-text is, will not turn it on.
We see, especially after di.day, a rise of users who have zero ideas about it.
They want an easy user experience.
We have some "hard cases" and they are so much struggling with doing it right.
