@inquiline This isn't a particularly narrow term, and therefore maybe not the most useful.
But can we at least consider "Thin Blue Lying" as a possibility?
This is less about portraying the fifth estate in a positive light (copaganda) than about apologism for statis of the first estate.
Which is to say, one arm of armed enforcement or another only feature as a talking points here. What is being defended is a different kind of blue.
Libaganda, perhaps, or votewashing.
"Since you elected Biden, things like reform happened and trust improved, because vote."
@beadsland @inquiline not that these are any good, but I was thinking like “civilization-washing”, “orderly-society-washing”, “obedience-washing”, basically the lib vision of what “law and order” is for.
@inquiline That makes it analogous to green washing, where "green" is something to actually aspire to, so I don't know if police is the right word there.
@inquiline Copaganda, as usual.
definitely when it's the media doing it. i was more thinking about the police doing PR themselves (and posting very hastily, haha)
@inquiline
Autocopaganda?
