Time for a new run in ONI.
This is Spaced Out, moonlet start, no story traits, and I'm gonna do an all-achievement run.

In an all-achievement run, the most difficult achievement is definitely Carnivore: eat 400k kcals by c100. That must be done w/ranching, so instead of my usual Brains (researcher/decorator) I've taken a Frankie. We'll use Frankie for the initial research, cuz ranching can't even happen until about c11 at the earliest.
@GeePawHill never played ONI, probably never will, usually scroll past these. But today I gotta note the quiet awesomeness of "In an all-achievement run..."
One of my great joys in this life is seeing People Who Know Their Shit... do the Shit they Know. Circus arts, music, coding, vidya gaming, whatever. (Heck, I'd probably even enjoy sports if I could approach it from this angle.)
I'm so very glad to see you out here Knowing the shit out of several flavors of Shit: music, coding, ONI. 🤩🤘
@geeksam Aww, thanks for saying, Sam.
Here's the starting scene. One thing jumps out immediately: The cool slush geyser is quite low, w/only maybe 5 full levels between it and the printer.
I'll dig around the sides a little and see what I can see, before I make any serious decisions.
Just the usual suspects blueprinted in. For c1 we always need a latrine, and if possible, our first power+research, tho that's less urgent.
Looking really close at that cool slush geyser, it looks like the ice biome's border might be just to the right of it.
More or less arbitrarily, I'm thinking that's a good place for the central shaft.
Never a match - I decided I wanted that copper right away, and my usual campsite latrine is 10x4, so I pushed it upstairs, and carved out the chamber underneath as a temporary barracks.
I probably need to review the math at some point: it's a bunch of front loaded labor just to avoid one turn of a sore back debuff.
@vocumsineratio It's tricky. In the first 10 cycles, nothing really matters all that much. But we all have our minmax streaks as we run them. :)
In an all-achievement run, the first three things we want are 1) carnivore, 2) locavore, and 3) super-sustainable.
locavore is "easy", cuz beating carnivore will meet the requirement, *but*, it does mean we may have to eat some mush bars along the way.
super-sustainable means no carbon power, so it will be all hamster wheel all the time until we get to industrial o2 production.
At the end of c2, you see where I'm headed.
I've blueprinted in the large battery for that first hamster wheel, and the cots for the barracks. To the right of the hamster wheel, we'll throw the great hall.
Note that I'm continuing to dig down, too. It's mostly to get a pit for the co2.
At the end of c3, I got a great Brains (researcher) drop, so I won't even have to use Frankie for that. Space is cleared for the mess hall cum great hall, but I lack the tech to make it that, we're working on that.
I've broken through to that water at the bottom. Mostly, I'm doing that to get the co2 out.
Cuz Brains was a drop, she comes w/a skill, I made her an advanced researcher, so I need to research the advanced research station, too.
@GeePawHill Good luck! I had success by ranching Pacu ASAP when I did that challenge. They're fairly easy to get a big population up quickly.
