Trump's problem is that so many Americans — including his MAGA base — believed that he'd expose a cabal of powerful global elites.
But every day it's becoming more and more clear that Trump is part of that cabal of powerful global elites himself.
Expect him to lash out as the walls close in.

@rbreich “Expose a cabal of global elites” sounds like a #conspiracy theory. Why not just say that the gap between rich and poor has widened dramatically since the 1980s so that the super rich have too much influence over political parties. We need taxation to be more progressive and unions to be less restricted by legislation. Moreover, the real dark horse is #climatechange policy, which is so far ineffective.
