Some lessons from trying to thwart #ICE in #Minneapolis for people in other cities:
1. Go out and meet your neighbors now. The threat of ICE coming is a great excuse and truly the growing solidarity is the best thing to come of all this.
Some lessons from trying to thwart #ICE in #Minneapolis for people in other cities:
1. Go out and meet your neighbors now. The threat of ICE coming is a great excuse and truly the growing solidarity is the best thing to come of all this.
2. If you have not already, burn down a police precinct. Police here help ICE *less* than most places (including surrounding suburbs), which so far seems the best we can get.
To be very clear because media is not covering this well police, especially our Hennepin County Sheriffs, are actively protecting ICE and CBP, including trying to ensure they get a full night's sleep after assaulting, kidnapping, and murdering all day.
Document police complicity but expect 'neutrality' at best.
3. We have not done this one yet, but: Make immigrant-heavy areas of your city car-free with permanent infrastructure. Tear up the street, put in bollards, the works. ICE and CPB agents are scared away from their cars.
