Today’s success: one direction of a Hayward/Kopski bi-directional termination insensitive amplifier. I used KSP10 VHF transistors and it’s delivering more gain than expected (30dB!) rather than 20dB from 2n3904. Careful construction, so no oscillation. I’ll just put it into a pad rather than re-biasing. But it worked first try, again. Lucky weekend ☘️ I’m calling this mixed Manhattan/Ugly style “ugly man” haha

@relistan Nice! Frequency? How are you determining there is no oscillation? (Did you get a scope or just using SA?) TNX & 73
@n8dmt it’s for the 20m band. No scope yet, just using the tinySA to look for oscillation. Nothing in evidence. Would expect lower gain, too in that case (unless it was oscillating at just the right frequency).

Last summer I had built a very crude 50MHz crystal oscillator following a circuit out of Solid Stare Design for the Radio Amateur. Very much just copying a design, but a good experience trying my hand at Manhattan-like construction.
I was intending to make it part of a beacon, but I got busy with other life goings-on before i did any more with it.
