RE: https://toad.social/@syferdet/115992964752254629

So Jeff Bezos bought a movie for Melania.

They spent $40 million making it, and $35 million marketing it, and as expected it earns only $5 million.

But on the bright side, old Jeff gets to support the Trump crime family without people boycotting Amazon and burning down his stores — the way they torched Teslas after Musk got Trump elected — because this new money transfer is a bit more opaque.

@randahl

The 40 million was for only the rights, which I take it went to her. 35 million for promotion, and whi knows how much to get the Epstein alumni guy to be the director and make it.

How the Melania Trump documentary became 2026’s most mysterious film

Amazon spent $40m to acquire the new movie about the US first lady, directed by Hollywood outcast Brett Ratner. Its release seems to only raise further questions, writes Louis Chilton

The advantage of not speaking English is that the film does not seem to be broadcast in Europe (except in the UK). What is curious is that the main protagonist does not speak English either ( and to be fair their president doesn’t speak English)

I dare to hope that in 3 years the justice will seriously consider all these cases of corruption .

I never had an Amazon account, I removed WhatsApp, closed my Facebook account ten years ago, ditched Windows for Ubuntu and Google Search for Qwant. Now I am considering buying a Murena "unAndroid" phone (I still have a Nokia).

I am very angered at all Europeans that still prefer their short term comfort over protesting tech bros backed fascism in the US. This passive collaboration is the equivalent of buying a Volkswagen in 1938.

It’s obscene, all that money wasted on a vanity project & the knowledge it has no real effect on Bezos’ bank balance even though it loses money & gives the so-called first lady & huge pay pkt for basically nothing. #EatTheRich.

@randahl You have to give credit to the Trumps: they're really good at utilizing every bribery scheme imaginable.
