Will the rest be added?
Catching up with some of the talks from yesterday that I missed.
@hongminhee Very nice overview!
@andypiper Plenty of charisma, dude, really enjoyed your and @haubles's talk!
@stefan yes, but it takes time:
@IanTwenty Nice, thank you!
Reading notes from the event that mention how Twitter was an improvement over RSS in terms of user experience.
Another good example would be people switching from pirating media over to signing up for streaming services. It was the easier option.
With Blacksky recently achieving full independence from Bluesky, and other projects following behind, it'll be interesting to see who will handle federation better.

Case in point, from a recent AT Protocol developer call:
> "choose a PDS host" is a surefire way to lose the user
Also interesting, some thoughts on sustainability and funding for ATProto apps:
> "I think eventually there are going to have to be more paid levels of atproto apps. I know I can't logically continue to burn money to support the infra indefinitely."

Interesting. Like many, I'm still using and enjoying RSS, long after "Twitter" has turned into a cesspool.
It seems there is still a group of people that is almost physically suffering from not seeing millions more of current corporate-social-media users flooding the #Fediverse.
I can't even begin to express how happy I am those "masses" aren't here, but boiling in their own "X" sauce – FAR, FAR away from here.
@katzenberger Yeah, I like and still use RSS. For certain things I'd even say I prefer it.
But I don't really get the aversion to fediverse gaining wider adoption. It doesn't bother me that so many people use email.
Fediverse will always consist of separate communities, and with how the federation works, you will likely not get to interact with everyone, all the time.
Also probably not your intention, but talking about "those masses" comes across a bit snobby.
Re "snobby": you do realize that you have linked to a post complaining "the Open Social Web still has only a tiny fraction of the users of the closed social media platforms"?
I'd rather question why some are so obsessed with the capitalist fetish of big numbers.
If it is "snobby" that I do not consider big numbers a good sign, then so be it: I'm snobby, then.
@katzenberger I don't think we'll agree on this, and that's fine, so I'll just add, I don't personally care much about growth for the sake of growth, I mainly want to see more diversity, but the same gatekeep-y attitudes prevent that as well.
There is no need to promote the agenda of those who don't trust in organic growth and can't stand an organic equilibrium, but rather want to pump the numbers, precisely because of their growth fetish.
If you denounce opposition against that as "gatekeep-y", I'm afraid we can't find agreement here, indeed.
@mapache Great presentation on https://badgefed.org! #fosdem #fosdem26 #fediverse
@liaizon has a great live-posting thread here!
I wonder if The Forkiverse will/has come up.
