Rep Joaquin Castro (D-TX) says he has visited the #ICE concentration camp in Dilley, TX, where Liam Conejo Ramos is being held with his father. That's the 5 year old #Minneapolis boy in the blue hat who was abducted by ICE and used as bait for his dad.

This is what all our leaders should be doing.

This kind of pressure does work! We have seen it in publicized cases and I have seen it personally, even when it was just a bunch of us randos showing up and not a Congressman.

See how the boy and his dad look like they are ok in the picture? Looks like it's not that bad? You know that's only because the fuckers illegally detaining them are facing national scrutiny.

Liam's arrest sparked a large protest within the Dilley facility this week, and this is video from protesters outside the camp today. #ICE can keep firing gas at people, it only makes them angrier.

We are past the point of no return with this regime. The Dems in Congress may fold like deck chairs again and again, but the American people will not rest until we are free again. And that means all of us.

Jenna King on Instagram: "🚨 URGENT: Crisis at Dilley, Texas Detention Center

A five-year-old boy was taken from his home and moved over 1,300 miles to the Dilley, Texas detention facility. His detention sparked a major protest inside the camp this weekend, with detained families chanting for freedom.

While reports of chemical weapons being used specifically on protesters outside Dilley this week are still emerging, a clear pattern of violence is escalating:

· Federal agents have used chemical weapons (tear gas, pepper spray) against civilians in recent weeks as part of aggressive immigration operations.
· Conditions inside Dilley are horrific: Food served with worms and mold, children denied medical care leading to permanent harm, and families held for months in psychologically damaging conditions.
· The protest shows resistance from within. Those detained are demanding basic dignity and liberty.

This is a chain of escalation: armed enforcement, inhumane detention, and a violent response to dissent.

Source: Synthesized from verified reports by The Guardian, PBS, CNN, and The Texas Tribune on recent operations, the detention of a specific child, and ongoing conditions at the facility.
Documented conditions include:

· Contaminated Food & Water: Food served with worms and mold, and limited access to clean drinking water. One mother described sucking sauce off pasta to get her child to eat something plain.
· Inadequate Medical Care: Children with chronic issues going untreated. One child’s ear infection led to permanent hearing loss due to lack of care.
· Psychological Harm: Lawyers report children experiencing regression, constant sadness, nightmares, and self-harm. A teenage boy detained with his father reported crying every night.
· Prolonged Detention: Families are being held for months, with many detained for over 80 days in these conditions."

One point I want to reiterate for those not familiar with US law: almost all the people in these concentration camps have no criminal record and could be released. The reason they are being held there is simply corporate greed: the billionaires running these private prisons and ICE concentration camps get paid per person. Then they starve people inside to save money, and charge them for essentials like shampoo or phone calls.

Liam and his father and countless others could all be released.

I've heard this discussed many times at protests outside our #ICE lockup. Compassionate release for people with small children was normal before Trump. The law provides for parents and certainly children to be let go.

These facilities should only be holding people with serious criminal records pending their deportation, and that should not take long.

Of course, ICE isn't good enough to catch actual criminals. So they're locking up people like Liam and his dad.
