There's a guy in my running club I've only communicated with once but over the group messages to other people, I have decided we should be good friends. How do I do that without being weird? @TheBreadmonkey I have started doing basically exactly this, except without the van bit (which, maybe leave out the van bit). Some variation on "you seem completely great and I'm really glad to have met you and, if you'd like, it would be lovely to go for a coffee sometime so we can chat some more", and if they are indeed the sort of person where we are likely to become friends, that tends to be fine :)
@TheBreadmonkey Plan something around something you have a mutual interest in? (I realize constructive suggestions seem to be at odds with most of the other replies. 🤷)
