There was a time when we had better leaders in the US and the Soviet Union.
An important meeting was in this house in Reykjavík, Iceland in 1986 between Reagan and Gorbatsjev. This was maybe the beginning of the end of the cold war and also the beginning of the end of the Soviet Union.
I think of that meeting every time I drive past this house on the way to work in Iceland.

@jon What would be optimal is a world without superpowers at all, where countries are on a more balanced footing. But I suppose that’s unrealistic.
@jon I think, 2 politicians here started a really "big deal". But today Trump would say: fake news! ;-( We can only hope that the USA will once again move forward "united " after Trump. As much nonsense as Trump tells, as much hate and incitement as the American government spreads, as much division as Trump is currently spreading among the population - the world doesn't need that. This is the reason why I haven't traveled to the USA since years !!!
