Hello all

We're planning to start a Peertube channel, to replace our Vimeo account, moving our videos across to the Fediverse. There are many photo music slideshows from performances (with music supplied by the musicians) and also hopefully a few cycling videos. It will feature videos by both @StevenKennard and myself (the music photography being his work).

I'm a bit confused about how to go about naming an account and then channels. I want to be sure before starting as they can't be changed once you set them up. I have an instance chosen, so that's something!

Can someone enlighten me please?

@elliek @StevenKennard

PeerTube channels are like sub-sections of PeerTube accounts. When PeerTube videos are viewed in a timeline on Mastodon, people only see the account's name at the top, not the channel name.

For this reason, if it is very important to you to keep the different kinds of videos separate, I'd strongly recommend creating separate PeerTube accounts for them rather than just separate channels.
