Buongiorno a tutti, sono Erika e apro con piacere un piccolo mondo dedicato al cucito.Perché potremmo avere bisogno di questo spazio? Perché cucire è un intimo atto politico, di resistenza ma soprattutto di amore.
Per approfondire questo aspetto consiglio la lettura di ‘I fili della vita’, Clare Hunter, edito da Bollati Boringhieri.
Ma inoltrandoci un po’ più nel vivo della questione, vi propongo una delle mille possibilità con le quali approcciarsi al mondo del cucito e sarei felice di sapere la vostra.
Cucire la necessità.
Parliamo di cucito sartoriale e creativo, senza distinzione. Reinizia la scuola, ci serve un astuccio: cuciamolo. Abbiamo le mestruazioni e ci rendiamo conto che abbiamo voglia di fare la differenza, disegnandoci un cartamodello di assorbenti su misura. Mutande lise? Cuciamocene un bel paio! Grembiule per non sporcarci? Ecco fatto!
Non si arriva a fare tutto dall’oggi al domani, ma con il sostegno dei tanti account che condividono gratuitamente le loro esperienze, qualche libro e qualche modellista che vi vende le sue preziose idee su carta (la conoscete mammaconstoffa, Elisa Masi?) ), ecco che abbiamo le basi per partire!
A proposito, urgono contenuti liberi anche su #peertube. Chi si propone? 🙂

Anyone hosts @peertube videos on object storage like Backblaze B2 ? If so is it reliable? Difficult to setup?
And how about storing the videos on HDDs? Is it too slow?

Occasionally, during my free time, I have been generating a list of Fedi sites, that use non-US domain names.

* Germany technically allows anyone with verified contact details within the country to register a domain. Many registrars offer this as a service. However, you should ensure your domain registrar is located outside U.S. jurisdiction.

If you're thinking of creating a Fedi site, I strongly recommend avoiding a .com, .net, .org, .info, .us, or .edu domain name.
You want to avoid U.S. jurisdiction entirely, which means choosing a domain name, registrar, and web hosting provider located outside of it.
I personally recommend the following domain extensions: .be (Belgium), .nl (Netherlands), .is (Iceland), .ch (Switzerland), .at (Austria), and finally, .tw (Taiwan).
All of these countries have strong protections for freedom of speech, including speech that defends and promotes minority rights — such as LGBTQ+ rights. Domain registration is open to everyone... You don’t need to be a citizen or own a business in any of these countries.
No solution is 100% perfect, but at this moment, we can say with confidence that the USA, China, and Russia are not ideal choices.
