The next time you get a "new amazing idea," pause and think about:
- Who owns the maintenance?
- What is the actual operational overhead?
- How do we handle edge cases and exceptions?
- Where are the hidden costs?
- Who is on the hook for support and end-user tickets?
Ideas are free. Execution needs bandwidth, know-how, and budget.
Don't get frustrated or lose your passion just because the system can not afford implementing a good idea. Keep pushing.
