I will be presenting a panel on trans masculine characters in romance next month and would love to hear from #TransMasc authors what they would like to have me cover and readers on what they want to see.

Additionally if you are a trans masculine author, please rec your books.

@KitAuthor@wandering.shop idk if you mean trans masc as an umbrella term that includes trans men but i'm a trans man artist (comics, zines, illustration; i also write poetry sometimes) and i always want to see more trans gay (as in male homosexual) stories, themes and plots because that's my niche in real life. much love to all my other trans and queer siblings as well but specifically men who have sex with men have my heart.

@foxglove @KitAuthor both as trans men/mascs finding each other, and as validation that cis gay men are willing to date trans men/mascs

because god do I need that kind of validation

@KitAuthor
Trans masc (nonbinary) though still a bit shy about claiming it.

The few trans masc characters I've read in romance have all be well done, but there are very few of them and all of them have been trans men, not nonbinary. Some days as a nonbinary person it's hard to feel like I'm 'allowed' to claim trans masc identity. It would be nice to see some rep.

As an author, I sometimes struggle with how to 'show' a character is trans, especially characters who aren't central to a story. I'd like more readers to understand that when we are 'in your face' about a characters trans status it's because the choice may be between that and them never knowing the character is meant to be trans.

Hope some of this helps.

As far as books to rec, What You Will is a queer-ed up Shakespeare with a trans man MC: https://books2read.com/b/4D8qkQ
