No longer getting any attention from his Greenland invasion fantasies, Trump now threatens 100 percent tariffs on all Canadian goods, because Mark Carney is negotiating a trade deal with China, like every other country on the planet does regularly, including the US.

I hope we will reach a point where the free world agrees, that a Trump tariff attack on one nation is a Trump tariff attack on all. Let him feel the consequences of his isolationist, America first agenda.

@randahl The interesting irony in this is today I was listening to a radio story on how Las Vegas is offering Canadian $ at par withUS$ (it is currently 30% less) for Canadians because they ‘miss us’.

Boycotts work!

@randahl
As a #USA citizen who detests #convictedFelon #sexOffender #DonaldTrump, I implore all other nations to be ruthless in trade deals with USA. It may hurt the citizens, but it is the only way to hurt #DementedDonald and possibly make him change his ways. If he doesn't change, then maybe it will make the citizens that support him finally vote him out or hold him accountable.

@randahl The US will have to make so many exceptions on products the US is importing from Canada to prevent social unrest and agricultural issues that it will almost be a taco.

And the tariffs are paid by the importing companies. Pain in the butt for the exporters, but an own goal for trump.

@randahl It is one of the reason nationalism is too expensive. It constantly needs new enemies.

@randahl I think he’s getting really sloppy now. Canada and China announced a deal a week ago… https://www.pm.gc.ca/en/news/news-releases/2026/01/16/prime-minister-carney-forges-new-strategic-partnership-peoples

Perhaps more is in the pipeline?

Prime Minister of Canada

To forge a new Canada-China partnership, the Prime Minister, Mark Carney, visited Beijing, the People’s Republic of China, this week. This marked the first visit to China by a Canadian Prime Minister since 2017.
