I think, that for my emotional wellbeing, I'm going to try mending this very old pillowcase for a little bit, instead of tackling the mountain of other things I should be doing. It's one of my favourites and that's why it's falling apart, but I figure it could become a cute decorative pillow, now. I also have exactly four of these little scrap pieces left over from a quilt!

#VisibleMending

A sort of faded raspberry pink pillowcase, cotton sateen, with small squares of similarly pink toned but much darker pink flower fabric. Both fabrics have a sort of abstract geometric feel to them. There's a rather noticeable three point tear, frayed, on the pillow fabric. Sini's pink fingertips in frame. All of the image is hues of warm, faint pink!

The texture is going to be not smooth after patching it, and probably embroidering the patches, but. Not an issue if it's just decorative and not for sleeping!

I've done one of four patches and somehow it's taking absolutely forever. And on a day when I don't have patience for something to take forever? And this is the simplest possible patch, even. Suboptimal.
Taking a break, then doing another one I guess.

I'm glad I took enough time to baste the little square patches on, because I was absolutely out of effort by the time I got to last of the sewing. 😆 The blanket stitch took way too long, and eventually I just whipstitched the rest on. Good enough, structural integrity returned.

Two photos side by side of two square patches of a flower fabric very neatly set onto a repaired bit of cotton sateen. The squares are flipped on an angle, becoming diamonds, and are following the geometric leaf pattern of the pink sateen. The colours are harmonising, with a bit of variation in the variegated embroidery thread used. It's very simple, but looks nice enough. Sini's pink fingers and short, filed round and shiny natural nails in frame.
