My 1963 Montgomery Ward Signature 500 (white label 1963 Royal Safari/Sahara) #typewriter lacks its ribbon cover, so when I close it up and put it in the case, the ribbon falls out. Very messy. Do not like.

Thinking of creating a replacement that I can 3D print.

Any tips? Should I try to mimic the original (seen here: https://typewriterdatabase.com/1963-montgomery-ward-signature-500.17389.typewriter)? Or get more creative?

@pleia2 If it was me (caveat: it isn't, it's you!) I'd *start* by cloning the original. Then, once I had one that worked, I'd figure out if it's possible to improve on it.
