State of the Project - Calendar Year 2025 - TDF Community Blog

Starting in January 2026, at the beginning of each quarter, i.e. in January, April, July and October, I will publish a slide deck with updated statistics on the LibreOffice project. Unless there are specific requirements, the statistics will refer to the last 12 calendar months. Therefore, the January statistics will refer to the 2025 calendar year, while the next ones will refer to the period from April 2025 to March 2026, and so on. All published information is available online for further processing. Links to data sources are on the penultimate slide, with some notes on data processing. If you have any questions or suggestions, please write to me: my email address is on the last slide.

@libreoffice
Do you have a map with downloads per capita?
China having a huuuge population, comparing it with Germany or France isn't really relevant of the roots of LibrrOffice in each country.
Thanks!

@libreoffice

I wonder why the least wealthy countries aren't downloading LibreOffice?

Is it because the technology to run LO isn't suitable? (I know mobiles are common, but computers not so much).

Is it because "free" tools like Google Docs is preferred, because there is nothing to install and it works wherever a browser works?

Is it because for most people, life just doesn't include using a computer based office productivity suite?

Something else?

Apologies for my ignorance on this matter.

@libreoffice I don't understand the downloads map. It's a single colour. I'm getting 0 info from it. 🤷‍♂️

@adrianmorales Hi! The darker shades are where more downloads are.
