Seeing github.com/friendica/friendica… with @pachli (thanks @z428eu for reporting) and wondering, if state is not implemented according to what mastodon api is expecting, this would mean friendica will have trouble with any mastodon client, right?

[api] Required value "state" missing? · Issue #15392 · friendica/friendica

@wilhelm @pachli @z428eu When we implemented it, there had been no support in Mastodon for quotes. It was done in a way that Fedilab supported at that point in time.

Too, it seems @pachli at the moment is the only client to handle things as strict as this; I have never seen this issue popping up in #fedilab, #tusky or #moshidon by now. Not sure how well these generally support quoted posts, then again.

@z428eu @heluecht @Wilhelm it looks like (still travelling, haven't investigated this in detail) that the non-Mastodon platforms don't support the idea of "This post contains a quote, but you can't see it, but we're going to tell you there is a missing quote because otherwise the original post might look weird".

It would be helpful if someone reading this thread can post some links to posts on Friendica (or other servers) that exhibit this problem (either here, or on the GitHub issue).
