Any #hamradio people know of a good source to get low cost / hand me down gear? EBay usually things are either auctions which are tough to deal with or their shipping prices are through the roof.

@Alan I highly recommend local clubs and swap meets. Clubs will give you loaned gear and even teach you how to use it. Swap meets can get you good prices if you know what you’re looking for.
I did buy one very clean HF radio on the QRZ.com swap pages for a fair price, but your experience may vary depending on the timing and person you’re dealing with.
