Really enjoyed this contrarian take on why maybe not everything is bad and worth being mad about

@Techaltar Most importantly: Being perpetually mad will not make you happier and does not mean you fight for a good cause
Many of my favourite #gaming franchises (eg #Pokemon) went so bad that I was mad for a while. But there are other games and it's okay for me to change my preferences!
There is so much fun to be hand with #indie games and I can still enjoy the retro titles I grew up with
@librico Exactly. It's valid to be disappointed. But you can just move on, there is more choice than ever.
@Techaltar another thing I have noticed more is open source product design - this blender by a berlin startup is extremely interesting: https://youtu.be/wgcqzUazXdw
Even though the masses are not interested in something like this, whats your take on actual physical products increasingly becoming open source and allowing people to repair and modify them? With 3D printing, CNC and computing becoming more accessible do you think it will be common one day to just make some appliances yourself?
@Techaltar billions must hope 🥰
@Techaltar Thank you for sharing, I don't really follow LTT closely anymore, but this is worth a watch :)
@Techaltar Prime example of contrarian doesn't always = bad, this gets into a lot of what people are thinking and I think people watching it are better off for that, the optimization bit especially, like that can only benefit everyone. They lament the shortage of basically everything in this age of slop but make sure to mention the value of second-hand markets, home run for LTT here imo :)
@Techaltar Thank you, I would've probably missed this one :)
@Techaltar I also was thinking that RAM shortage might force some developers into optimization mode but I also don't want to overhype it as it might just be unfiltered copium.
I heard a theory that this shortage might make gaming/processing in the cloud easier to sell to the average person (thin client galore) and that aligns with the whole enshittification trend way too well. 😕
