I'm facing a conundrum. English is the language that I share with the majority of people I interact with here in the fediverse. I mostly follow tech people, and I believe my followers are also mostly tech people.

On the other hand, my mother tongue is Catalan (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catalan_language) and the best thing that can happen to a "minority" language is having people actually use it.

Should I be posting messages on both languages (message lenght becomes a big issue)?

Should I post a reply with the translation?

Should I have a separate account where the main language is Catalan, and just link both accounts somehow?

Any ideas?

@sergi Does LibreTranslate support it? If so I'd be happy hitting the translate button when you post in Catalan!

@alcinnz it does. Is that what Mastodon uses for the auto-translate function?
