We are still not getting to grips with homelessness.

As Anton Roberts (MMU) argues what is needed is a public health approach to homelessness with a clear 'housing first' approach.

Not only is this more compassionate towards the individuals who find themselves without a permanent (established) dwelling, it also makes clear economic sense.

But that *would* require our political class to see the homeless as deserving of help not merely feckless.

The UK spends millions on services for homeless people. Housing them could make more economic sense

The government’s homelessness strategy has some positives – but ‘business as usual’ is a false economy.
