Volunteering for #Community Support✨

Today I had the opportunity to serve dinner at Rosie’s Place in #Boston.

Since 1974, Rosie’s Place has offered a safe haven for #LGBTQIA+ women, providing meals, overnight shelter, a food pantry, wellness care, education, legal aid, and #housing support to those in need who self-identify as female.

Nonprofits like this can’t do their work without community partners, donors, and volunteers.

Are You a Public Housing Resident Behind on Rent? Received an Eviction Notice? Here’s What to Know.

If you’re one of 1.6 million people living in public housing nationally, you have special protections meant to prevent low-income tenants from being evicted when they fall behind on rent. We created a guide to the process.

#Housing#Poverty#Homelessness#Homeless#PublicHousing#Maine

The visibility of homeless people on street corners, begging for food and housing, is an obvious sign that our economy is failing. I've seen a large increase in the number of people begging at intersections in my suburbs far outside of Chicago, steadily increasing since Covid lockdowns ended.

Dictators need to hide the homeless in order to hide their economic failures. (Also, without an address, the homeless can't vote, making them easier targets.)

Republicans have always preferred the more expensive "prisons and insane asylums" response to #homelessness , rather than the less-expensive and proven #HousingFirst solutions.

Much of this current White House statement on the subject tries to forestall and negate #HousingFirst discussions by demonizing the homeless and portraying them all as either insane or addicts, rather than just signs of an economy that is failing to meet the basic needs of millions of its citizens.

Just hit 1K followers on Instagram—grateful. 🙏🏽

This milestone feels extra special given the path I’ve walked – from experiencing #homelessness to becoming a #smallbusiness owner. My commitment to advocating for #health equity, #mentalhealth, and #recovery has only grown stronger.

Your support helps amplify voices that need to be heard and enables me to continue volunteering, both locally and in 🇺🇦 #Ukraine.
