The #US has "Truth Social" (build on Mastodon code) kinda as it's "official social media"
And #Europe has it's own #Mastodon instance in the #Fediverse

Actually, funny thing, I am pretty sure if numbers were run, Facebook/Meta would be the “official” social media of the U.S.
@robbienorlyn @stux Meta and formerly Twitter back when it was Twitter were definitely the main two. It was pretty much Meta for the old people, Twitter for everyone else and then a handful of Tiktoks and such mixed around (mostly among the youngest I think.) That's why Musk needed to take over Twitter and wreck it...
But by "official" they just mean "the government is officially using it as a primary" and that's just because the regime founded it for their own uses.
Sadly, we get no say.
