In Italy we use the Latin expression “ad mentula canis” for a botched job when we want to ennoble the Italian slang expression . The expression  in Italian is “a cazzo di cane”. As in “Questa casa è stata costruita a cazzo di cane”. The English translation would be “dog dicked” or “dog dickery” as in “What dogdickery is this software?”
