Have you watched Waiting for the Out?
If not; you need to binge watch it right now (its on BBC IPlayer in the UK).
While the central story is about a man teaching philosophy to prisoners while also dealing with his ruptured relationship with his now absent father (also an ex-prisoner), like all great TV this take you on a ride to unexpected (but in retrospect perfectly logical) place (in story terms).
Just brilliant!
