@Tutanota 🤝 power to the people!
@Tutanota AFAIK DuckDuckGo is using BING as backend engine: only without bing knowing who you are. 😉
@Tutanota I really don't want tuta to become a ecosystem. The tuta drive app that's still in progress worries me.
@Tutanota huh, I guess using #PowerShell is still OK! I was worried for a second 😅
@Tutanota makes it clear that there are a lot of alternatives!
@Tutanota My daily tools :
Linux
CoMaps
Notesnook
LibreWolf and Zen browsers
Tuta Calendar
Cryptpad and OnlyOffice
JitsiMeet
Ente Auth
Filen and Koofr drives
Tuta and Mailfence mails
Mojeek and Startpage
LibreTranslate
@Tutanota I moved to ProtonMail a few years ago and that was a good choice! Thanks for the other tips!
With every post you make, I become more convinced not to subscribe to your products and to recommend this to others as well.
Is it reasonable for you to nominate your product, which is still under development and not yet complete, and leave Protondrive?
Your impartiality and credibility do not exceed 0%.
You do not have real criteria for recommendation and nomination.
Its missing onlyoffice for office alternatives
@Tutanota can also highly recommend Vikunja for task and project management 👀🦙
Any plans to help people move to Tutamail by allowing the revolutionary plan to import emails?
And any ETA for Tuta Drive and a list of features?
@Tutanota I like your this like de-googling and demicrosofting
@Tutanota Do you ever actually test the privacy claims of the browsers you recommend? I’ve noticed some on that list weren’t privacy orientated when you first mentioned them. Seems like you go off vibes rather than any quantifiable metrics…
@kinsale42 @Waterfox Which ones would you take off, and why?
@Tutanota @kinsale42 isn’t the onus on your team to run tests and analyse the results, especially if you’re throwing your weight behind recommendations?
@Tutanota i know we got to vouch for our open source software but you just can't game on #Linux unless you run Windows on your Linux. you want to #deMicrosoft people? make the triple A games run on Linux and you'll see people flock
@unhammer We use it, and it works just fine.
Tuta, Brave Browser and Obsidian.
@Tutanota apparently Firefox (or at least the CEO) is going hardcore with the AI bs
@Tutanota Please do not recommend Brave software. They are strong promoters of all major tech hype scams such as crypto and genAI, and the leadership is overtly transphobic. Regardless if you are demicrosofting due to the copilot bloatware or due to Trump's control of the platforms, Brave is a terrible alternative in both cases.
@Tutanota Private all done. Also switched to "X Plane" after nice people here told me that it's a good alternative to MS Flight Simulator!
At work I sadly still have an account and mostly MS tools, but maybe that will change depending on how the Swiss Government BOSS project will go >.> https://www.bk.admin.ch/bk/en/home/digitale-transformation-ikt-lenkung/standarddienste/bueroautomation/poc-boss.html
@Tutanota Improve accessibility in ALL your features, and we -blind users- will choose alternatives much, much more. We are the most vulnerable computer users, and most controllable, because alternatives care less about our needs. Just 12 months ago, TutaMail via web was nearly the best in accessibility, except for the captcha you then solved. But now it's a complete disaster.
