As a long time Pixelmator Pro user, I'm relieved and excited that Apple is giving it the star treatment after acquiring it. That outcome is almost never the case in those kind of transactions.

@jon I'm still salty about what they did to the OG Final Cut Pro and Aperture.
I'm a longtime Pixelmator Pro user and I'm a little afraid about this new subscription model, sigh. Any word of what happens for legacy users?
@_elena My understanding is that they will continue to support one-time purchases, before and after, and that they get the same updates that the subscription gets. The only difference is the subscription gets access to premium “content,” which it’s still unclear what that is. It might be new templates and/or something else. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
@jon haha maybe the premium content is some of their AI nonsense which I have zero interest in. Very happy that for now I'm safe with my Pixelmator Pro (the version I bought years ago). Thanks Jon!
I was thinking and hoping for the exact same thing.
