The #EU - #Mercosur deal 芦reaffirms standards established under the WTO's Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) and introduces enhanced protections for copyrights, trademarks, designs, patents and trade secrets禄.
Also 芦simulations project a rise in GHG emissions across Mercosur countries, specifically 0.78% in 2040 (6.2% cumulatively over 15 years)禄.

As of July 2025, 芦EUMETA contains a vast chapter on intellectual property rights (IPR) [...] overall in line with similar chapters in other EU trade agreements. A few details have been changed regarding copyright protection. According to the Commission they relate to definitions and the rights of broadcasting organisations, which are now made optional and will be granted on condition of reciprocity (EU COM, 2024j)禄.
