@NGIZero @EUCommission We need to make this a thing at @fosdem . Like, a booth where people are invited to leave their comment. Maybe with a speech-to-text thing to speed this up.

@zverik @EUCommission @fosdem I like the idea of drawing attention to the Call at #FOSDEM. However, isn't the speech-to-text thing a bit on the over-engineering side of the spectrum? After all, most people will have a computing device on them and can just follow the link.
But having a place where people are invited to leave a comment is a great idea.
I am tagging Chrystalleni from @NGIZero_Cyprus who also had a great idea: organizing a discussion group to consider the topic before submitting

@NGIZero If there's still space, it could be a session in the BoF track where people just come together to fill in the form on their own. It could help as motivation (if you schedule it, you're more likely to do it) as well as for practical help with jargon and other inconveniences which may make you give up when you try alone at home.

At the scale of the EU, commitment to FOSS would save a lot in per seat licensing fees. Some of those savings should be productively repurposed. Fostering an environment where companies that get a fair and proportionate fee for developing the tools, in response to growing/changing needs & improvements would still make economic sense. Those companies should have to operate in harmony with copy left licensing and their enhancements shared. They should operate a Design Thinking paradigm, so that they are user driven, not just tech and should be a good model for the rest of the FOSS community. Following Cory Doctorow's suggestion of countering US' agreement breaking tarrifs with repealing anti circumvention laws would also open up EU markets & opportunities in this space, while helping preserve EU sovereignty.
