USA defence spending is pig trough, pork barrel. It's not useful operationally for the real threats.

@rbreich To the extent that tax cuts for the rich do trickle down, they don’t trickle down in a constructive way. Tax policy is policy, it ought to be directed to constructive societal goals. Trickle down is the abdication of policy, a pure expression of the belief that there is something magical about the mythical “free market” that must not be sullied with impure social goals.
@rbreich the EU is now forced to set up a military defense, to replace NATO without US. If not, both Putin and Trump will give us serious trouble.
