🗓️ IPv6 just turned 30 and still hasn’t taken over the world // The Register

"Migration costs, complexity, and training requirements remain high, while short-term ROI is low," Gartner distinguished VP analyst Andrew Lerner told The Register. "Performance parity across applications and devices is inconsistent, and some organizations even disable IPv6 for better performance. Lack of dual-stack support in legacy infrastructure is another barrier"

@jbz Dont look at #IPv6 as an upgrade but as maintenance. Things will just keep working fine if you neglect it, until it suddenly doesn't...

For ISP's and corporate networks, consider the damages if a certain website or resource is suddenly not accessible anymore. (because it went IPv6-only) And for online services and websites, consider availability for people who have "cheap" ISP's where CGNAT is so overloaded that it breaks.

IPv6 is not just a feature, it's availability and risk management!
