Looking at what's going on in the "real world" today, living in The Village actually looks pretty attractive right about now.

Charles Stross ( @cstross ) set a novel [1] partly in an even more dystopian (in some ways) analogue of The Village, and even that place is starting to look good.

[1] "Season of Skulls". You should read it, along with everything else he's written. https://www.antipope.org/charlie/blog-static/buy-my-books/buy-my-books-uk.html , or https://www.antipope.org/charlie/blog-static/buy-my-books/buy-my-books-us.html if you want on USAnian versions.

I loved 'The Prisoner'. Many decades later it is still worth a watch.

@JHB17 @cazabon @cstross just ... don't watch the 2009 remake, or at the very least wait until you've seen the 1967 original ...

@mherbert @JHB17 @cazabon There is no remake. It does not exist. No such TV show existed and if it did whoever was responsible would need to be assassinated to expunge their guilt and shame.
