Massive list of protest events this weekend, all of which appeared in the last day due to the shooting in Minneapolis. Lots locally in my area, too. I think people are angry and frustrated, and so far the 1st Amendment still applies here... So people are willing to show their anger and frustration.

Just be aware you WILL be tracked by license plate readers and/or other means, if you are concerned about it. There are multiple Flock cameras at the most popular protest site in our area, undoubtedly aimed at the protest and at license plates of people attending the protest.

A massive cache of Flock lookups collated by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) shows as many as 50 federal, state, and local agencies used Flock during protests over the last year.

@ai6yr
1) take public transportation as much as possible
2) Pay Cash in the area
3) 2 words: Burner Phone
4) Do not go alone and have a buddy
5) Do not allow yourself to fall behind police lines
6) know your rights: https://www.aclu.org/know-your-rights/protesters-rights
7) Have a designated rally point if you get separated
8) When they start firing the tear gas, bail
9) do your diligence had have multiple escape routes preplanned
10) If you local police force is not encrypted have a scanner
11) Check 6 they will redeploy and try to cut off groups
12) PROTECT PRESS. They bear witness and are targeted as well
13) Remove facial ID and fingerprint ID for any smartphones. They need a judicial warrant to use your passcode
14) change your passcode to have a crazy number of letters, cases, symbols and numbers which makes brute force difficult
15) Do NOT take pics of fellow protesters, only security forces

Know Your Rights | Protesters’ Rights | ACLU

The First Amendment protects your right to assemble and express your views through protest. However, police and other government officials are allowed to place certain narrow restrictions on the exercise of speech rights. Make sure you’re prepared by brushing up on your rights before heading out into the streets.
