Listen, I know it’s temping to say people shouldn’t come/migrate to USA anymore because of current conditions. Even though, I agree with that, life can be very hard in so many third world countries that you can’t even imagine it. Moving to USA for these people is the golden ticket they’ve dreamt all their lives.

@farah I think people should be able to move/migrate wherever they want. It’s tourists I would specifically advise to avoid visiting the USA right now.
The problem comes when the golden ticket is actually pyrite and the holder is charged with fraud.

Heck even I ̶m̶o̶v̶e̶d̶ migrated to USA 19 years ago. Would I have died if I still lived in my country? Probably not. But I know for sure, I would’ve been miserable! There are so many factors that I can’t even begin to list them.
Am I disappointed/ disillusioned of how USA turned out to be? Yes, sure. It’s not the utopia I thought it would be. Yeah, I could’ve had a better life, more comfortable life if I had a career in what I was trained on/inclined to. I could’ve been one of the tech guys we loathe these days. Heck, my husband is! Well, sort of. He works in a university, so yeah we’re not rich lol

@farah You know what I find disgusting - when people from US go to Global South impoverished places, exploit people trying to survive poverty, are racist to the locals & buy up property in places they degrade & contribute to housing crisis overseas. These are the same bigots who hate immigrants & refugees.
