i was raised in a community that taught us the morbidly wealthy were corporeal demons, non-human, literal evil in meat-space and to accumulate wealth or to act to help others accumulate wealth was the devil's work.
that the morbidly wealthy believe there are no humans, fits. weirdly, fits.
