I want you to witness me declare an intention: if Café OTO is still extant when I am 67, and so am I, then I will have played that stage by then (legit, i.e. no stunts or guerrilla incursions).
If I can have spoken from the same stage as Abraham Lincoln, then by all the green gods I can play the same stage as Thurston Moore.
@adamgreenfield I graced the same stage as Patti Smith (and, for that matter Thurston Moore, Grant Hart, Mike Watt, and a host of others) at The Trades Club in Hebden Bridge. Granted, it was my birthday, and we’d hired the venue, but still.

@adamgreenfield The man is a living legend. I once tried to get him a short-notice booking when a prior venue pulled out at late notice. Didn’t work out, but we had a great chat after the eventual gig, and I made it to his tour diary. @adamgreenfield Charmingly, either then or the time i briefly spoke to him at the merch table when Il Sogno Del Marinaio played at the Trades the year before, he insisted on referring to the Calder Valley as “Cauldron Valley” which I need to use as either the name of a band or a song soon…

@adamgreenfield Your post evokes in me a wish for loudness! my ability to play loud (ie 'listen loud') is limited these days by my location (block of flats, so it can't be really loud) and my sharing of the flat with another. Perhaps I should get out more, to Cafe Oto and . . . elsewhere.
