I was listening to a report on DW and a person in the street in Berlin said that the mobile networks were also out because of the power cut. Is that right? Is there no power backup for cell towers ?

@steely_glint Most masts generally only have a few hours battery backup, some larger ones might have generators
@jonty The impression I had was that this failure was immediate, but that could be my poor German language skills.
@steely_glint @jonty in adlershof in august it was mixed. maybe different providers put in different amounts of money/redundancy into their networks?
